New Motto

Sometimes we do things we don't want to do because it's good for us. This is the theme of my life lately. A list of things I don't want to do that I do because it's good for me:

1. Think before I buy and forgo things that I don't need. Not because I want to, but because it's good for my wallet.
2. Workout, even when it's gross and I don't have energy. Not because I want to, but because it's good for my stress levels, my mood, and my hips.
3. Have hard talks with people I love. Not because I want to, but because it's good for my relationships.
4. Eat healthy, even when I'm craving sugar and grease. Not because I want to, but because it's good for my health (and not becoming the "sick elderly" population).
5. Getting up and moving even when I feel unmotivated and scattered. Not because I want to (because I sure don't!) but because it's good for my overall mental health 353 out of the 365 days of the year. I give myself one day per month to just veg and sit in my pj's because everybody deserves a day like that every month.

The things I want to grow in my life (mainly healthiness & love) require work and don't necessarily grow out of my "wants". Sometimes I need to remind myself of this. I have to push past what I want to do to get where I want to be.
